Demo Out Now!
Play Fantasy Football Tactics Today!
Happy NFL Kickoff day! To celebrate, I’m launching the demo for Fantasy Football Tactics. That’s right, you can now play FFT on Steam!!! It’s surreal and exciting to be at this phase of development. What started as a prototype on Oct 19, 2016 has slowly grown–through a whopping 691 separate code/art/music changes–to become the game it is today. I’ve learned so much and am super proud of it and can’t wait for y’all to play! Thank you to everyone who has supported me and helped me get to this point. I truly couldn’t have done it without you :)
You can add the game to your library and install the demo here!
Shiny Happy Demo Updates!
There’s a veritable starting lineup of new content and changes. A few highlights include:
Meet Queen Versephone on the new Castle playfield. Be warned, she’s a fierce competitor!
Tons of bug fixes and difficulty tuning.
Vertical range and area of effect restrictions. Now you can really use height to your advantage!
Improved graphics, art and lighting effects. They have shiny metal helmets now!
New soundtrack instrumentation (Alternative Chip Tune Rock! 🤘🏻👾)
Improved UX, including name tags and clearer turn order display
Four new abilities to experiment with including:
Handoff - Give ball to adjacent ally and their turn is guaranteed to be next.
Revive - Bring back a Walloped ally immediately with full health.
Tush Push - Push an ally, and anyone behind them, up to two tiles.
Strip - Attempts to take the ball from an opponent.
Modified abilities:
Stiff Arm - I got a lot of play test feedback on this one and it’s way more fun for it. Stiff Arm can now be used at all times, including ricocheting an opponent off an obstacle or even pushing them off the field entirely!
Bullet - This has been opened up and no longer requires line of sight. In exchange, the range has been pulled in.
View movement and passing range of any unit.
Improved goal animation and sounds!
Plus all of the great stuff built during the play test like settings, controller support and Remote Play Together for versus mode.
And more I’m sure I’m forgetting about!
In any case, I hope you have a blast exploring the new content–and please let me know what you think!
Please Play, Review, and Enjoy the Demo!
I know many folks here are looking forward to the mobile release of Fantasy Football Tactics, but for those active on Steam and who play games on Windows or Mac, it helps me out A TON if you would spend some time with the demo and consider leaving a review. An area will show up on the demo page for you to leave a review and recommend the game after you’ve played it a while:
How this helps:
Logged play time helps show Steam what games are trending and worth boosting (just another one of those sweet, sweet algorithms).
Once a game has roughly 10 ratings, the ratings will become visible to new players which significantly helps with visibility and interest.
Continued feedback on what is working–and what is not–so I can continue to make the game better.
Above all, I hope you enjoy and have fun–that’s the whole point anyway!
Bonus tip: If you know other people who you think would like my game, please share the demo with them too!
Other Updates
Indie Game Fest at Teahee in Denver
I was invited by a friend at CIGDA to demo Fantasy Football Tactics in person at the brand new Teahee tea shop in Denver. What a great time it was! I loved getting to meet some fellow developers and artists in person, and to interact with gamers. My favorite was when someone walked up and asked “Did you fuse Final Fantasy Tactics with football?” Why yes, yes I did! We then played a versus match on Gothic Pasture which was a dream come true.

500 Wishlists!
FFT surpassed 500 wishlists over the Labor Day weekend! I didn’t know what to expect when I kicked the Steam page off a year ago, so it’s been really cool to see an audience form around the game. Here’s a video I put together to say thank you :)
TL;DR; and What’s Next?
Please play the demo and leave a review on Steam!
Join the Discord to share feedback and get even more dev updates on the game. There’s even a channel to coordinate online versus matches!
After this big push to release the demo, I’ll be back at work with a view to actually finish the game! There’s a ton of fun new abilities and playfields to build and I’m eager to get back to it. Oh, and bug fixes. Always bug fixes. Let me know if there’s an ability or playfield you’d like to see in the final game when it launches by leaving a comment!
Until next time, I hope everyone has fun cheering on their home team. I’ll be at the game this Sunday to cheer on my hometown Denver Broncos as they take on Cam Ward and the Titans! Bo-lieve!

Congrats on the demo release! Fun to see you reach this major milestone.
So excited for you and can't wait to play--and to meet Queen Versephone!!
